We have arrived. It was a pretty
smooth day. Flight left DIA on schedule and was a
smooth ride to Dallas-Ft.Worth. As we were boarding
in DIA the flight attendant asked where we were
going and I told her we were headed to New Orleans.
Upon exiting the plane in Dallas she looked at me
and said "Do us proud!". I promised we would do our
best.
During our layover in Dallas there was a
very nice man that came up and asked if were were
starting our mission trip or ending it. He wanted to
know all about our group and where we were from. We
talked with him and his wife for a while. He is a
Baptist preacher that had lived in New Orleans many
years ago. Come to find out, she actually worked at
John Curtis Christian School. They let us know that
they would be praying for us during the week and
thanked us for going.
We
had a small delay leaving Dallas due to our plane
arriving late because of weather conditions it had
encountered. The flight from Dallas to New Orleans
was not nearly as smooth because of weather. We
arrived safely in New Orleans and rented the van and
headed off to Wendy's. Before we could get to
Wendy's it started pouring down rain. We were all
drenched by the time we got into Wendy's.
We found our hotel - via the scenic
route. We made up for not driving together all the
way from Colorado by driving around in circles here
in New Orleans. After we checked in we headed out to
rent the tools we needed. Again....we took the
scenic route.
Several people needed a few things so
we found a Wal-Mart and got the necessary
items which included a case of Coke!
Carla we remembered!
After
an afternoon of driving we were all getting hungry
again so we hit the Quizno's across the street from
the hotel.
